LEAD WATER OPERATOR/PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
Description: The Village of Beecher is accepting applications for the position of full-time Lead Water Operator/Public Works Maintenance Mechanic. The Beecher Public Works Department maintains the Village’s water system, wastewater treatment plant, over 50 acres of parks, in addition to street maintenance, snow plowing, leaf and brush pickup, and the general maintenance of 7 municipal buildings. This position would be the Responsible Operator in Charge for the Water System including, daily testing, chemical delivery & storage, monthly operating reports, sampling in conjunction with the IEPA sample schedule, as well as being a part of the daily operations of the Public Works Department to include, park maintenance, street maintenance, snow plowing, etc. This position is under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent and the Assistant Public Works Superintendent as agent. Some weekend and after hours work will be required.
This position is part of a Collective Bargaining Agreement with IUOE Local 399.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, Illinois EPA Class C Water License at time of application. Class B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement at time of application. General Standards License required within 6 months of hire. Five (5) years experience in equipment operation and public works, construction, or maintenance.

Salary Range: $50,862 to $77,194 DOQ

PART-TIME POLICE OFFICER
The part-time position involves a variety of police duties including maintaining law and order, preserving peace, preventing crime, apprehending offenders,
recovering lost/stolen property, and maintaining custody of prisoners.
This position does not advance to a full-time police officer position. There is a separate application and testing process for full-time police officers.
Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
- Preference will given to candidates who have graduated from a State of Illinois basic recruit academy and meets requirements for Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board for Certified Police Officer
- Must not have been convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanors, as defined by State Statute
- Must participate in and successfully complete all stages of the testing process, which may include but not limited to: oral interview, polygraph examination, extensive background investigation and post offer physical/drug test
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Twenty-one years of age or older
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays
Standard shift is 12hr in length but can vary
Wage: 25/hr.
