Emerald Ash Borer

After much consideration, the Village of Beecher has decided to not treat its 264 Ash trees but instead to take them down if and when the trees die and then replace them with a more diverse species of trees.  Prolonged treatment of the trees becomes cost prohibitive on such a scale.  However, homeowners can treat trees either on the Village parkway or on private property at their own expense if they so desire.

There have been proven effective treatments of Ash trees which can be applied either by the homeowner or professionally by a contractor.  The Village of Beecher does not recommend any specific contractors but is supplying this information as a convenience to our residents.  Additional information about the Emerald Ash Borer can be found at emeraldashborer.info
